FUTURO by Eduardo Chavez

Where do you think the future of sport content on mobile is headed?

The future of mobile sports content is headed towards greater personalisation. Mobile devices present sports and media organisations with the ability to supply specific content to niche target segments.

Faster mobile processors, advances in mobile broadband speed (LTE), device convergence trends (Apps that combine Computing, TV, Gaming, etc), and location information (GPS) translate to users having access to more services in more places. Increased ability to personalise content consumption will mean that content no longer needs to be suit a mass market and can instead be more focused on niche events (local, regional, national and international sport events). Implications are that niche events may not receive professional media coverage, but instead that provided by fans.

The high degree of personalisation is likely to increase user engagement and create new revenue opportunities through the provision of complementary services (betting, gaming, video highlights, scores, ringtones, etc.).
