Social Networks stats (LinkedIn and Facebook)
Went to the July FED event with Cliff Rosenberg (MD of LinkedIn AU/NZ) and Paul McIntyre and got to learn about some of LinkedIn current stats which include 70m users globally and 1.3m in Australia (.2m in NZ).  Despite the numbers sounding low, LinkedIn is attractive because it has a niche, but influencial user base. The average user is 40 years old, has a Uni degree and earns on average A$100k....

Augmented reality the business benefits
Went to a presentation by Gary Hayes on augmented reality. The presentation touched on the 5 types of augmented reality and 16 potential commercial uses. Overall, the area is still bleeding edge, but promises to be of great value for training, location based services, advertising, tourism, games and virtual demos/catalogues.
